You can just restore any iOS device to standard at any time, so no need to worry about warranty and jail braking.

The only time you would ever get exposed to the "warranty void" situation is if you were stupid enough to return your device to an Apple Store in an obviously jailbroken state. As Gabe already said, a quick connect to iTunes and "restore" erases ALL traces of a jailbreak. It is, after all, only software and can be easily erased...
