First off, thanks to everyone on this forum for such great info. This is by far the best source I had found for jailbreak news. That being said I may need some help.
I have an iPad 2, 3G on 4.3.3 JB 3. I would like to upgrade to 5.x.x (mostly to use iCloud with my new iPhone 4s).
I recently had to run a clean install of Win 7 64bit onto my desktop.
When I went to attempt a update to iOs 5.0 I kept getting the 3194 error. Thrice.
Third time iPad froze and I got it to boot out after sitting overnight.
So my question is, is there a tutorial somewhere that will walk me through the process of moving from 4.3.3 JB 3 to 5.0.x on my iPad 2 3G from start to finish, including the downloadingnof whatever new files I might need to put onto my newly restored Win desktop? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks again.
Hi. If you follow this guide it will help you get your device restored to 5.0.1 whilst avoiding errors such as 3194. Note that you must restore to 5.0.1. You have no other options open to you with an iPad2 3G. TUTORIAL - Failsafe method to restore the current version of IOS
Hope that helps.

Got an untethered iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. Feel free to update.
Waiting for that “Next Thing” means you’d never buy anything.
Yep. Pod2g just wrote that.Originally Posted by Poser
So I guess it's perfectly safe to update the iPad 1 I have sitting here but I'm wondering about my 4S and iPad 2 3G. Apparently he doesn't have either to test, but everyone is also saying that it's a firmware exploit so it "should" affect the A5 devices. There's time to wait but I don't want to miss my window if Apple drops 5.1 tomorrow to cut this off. Thoughts?
For 5.0 to 5.0.1 it was LESS than 24 hours which took many folks by surprise.
