"What basically has happened is that Conceited Apps, an iOS and OS Xdevelopment studio, has sold the domain jailbreakme.com (they allowed comex to use it to host his jailbreaking tool). Jailbreaking enthusiasts will be quick to recognize the domain name, as it was where iPhone hacker comex hosted his popular jailbreaking tool JailbreakMe. The domain name has apparently been sold to an “absolutely unknown, untrusted, and unsafe” owner and, as of writing, there is no web-based jailbreaking solution available."
It goes on to say that the new site for jailbreaking will be Jailbreaks.me
Anyone care to confirm this info?

Okay, just tried to go to Jailbreaks.me and was redirected to Comex's twitter page. Hopefully one of the mods will chime in on this.

Yes, for now - do not use JailbreakMe.com
Please note that if you go to this site on your iPad in Safari - it will show the JailbreakMe 3.0 screen. This is a new change (as it was showing a memorial picture for Steve Jobs).
Until this is sorted, please - do not use that site.
Just a friendly warning ... we'll keep y'all posted on where to go/what to do.

I have updated to jailbreaking methods sticky and other references I can find to point to the new domain which is jailbreaks.me, however at this time it is not yet live and will simply redirect to Comex's twitter feed until such time as he is able to host the site at the new domain.

Given that normality has been restored I will edit the title of this thread so as not to cause future confusion.

No idea Marie. It was sold back in July and widely reported as being for sale towards the end of the development of JBME 3.0, so it should not have come as a surprise to anyone that the ownership was going to change at some point.
