First post, but an iPad addict, and linux user hence the urgent as i cant live without my pad...

Ok so i am using an Ipad 1, and a MacBook Running OSX, and trying to Jailbreak my Ipad via pwnage, firstly my Ipad is running 4.3.1, all backed up etc... have downloaded the .ipsw for 4.3.1 via this site, however after going through pwnage and DFU etc, when i restore from the custom file i get an error once it 'verifies restore with apple'

error is 3194; device not compatible with this firmware....

now i know that there is 4.3.2, but what should my next step be restore standard non JB method via itunes or download and pwnage 4.3.2?

OR is there a simple step i am not performing leading to this error during the custom restore of the Ipad...

any help much appreciated....

Well, depending on the jail breaking method can you not jb 4.3.1 without SHSH blobs anymore. I think sn0wbreeze restores a jail broken firmware onto the iPad, but that requires a firmware activation from the Apple servers, since 4.3.1 is outdated, Apple doesn't sign it anymore and you get an error.

So to prevent this, you could either
-use a different jail breaking tool, which jailbreaks the firmware already installed, such as redsn0w
-or update to 4.3.2 and then jb with the tool of your personal preference.

so the firmware window for 4.3.1 is closed hence no blob things...ok, so i have to restore the ipad normally via itunes to 4.3.2 or can i just download the 4.3.2 ipsw (currently downloading) go through pwnage process again and restore from the custom file, hence updating and JB the pad in one?

Both ways work.

So you can upgrade and jb in one step.
