    spyware in ipad

I believe my spouse has downloaded Meraki systems manager into my iphone and ipad mini. Is there a way to tell if it is in the device? When I look at the device in settings or on itunes I can't see it. I was informed it runs completely in the background and cannot be seen by the user.

    Thank you for any assistance.

If that systems manager is loaded on any of your iDevices, it will appear in the General tab of the Settings app, under Profile (I think ... I don't have one on my iDevices). If you don't see a "Profile" line - there is no profile installed on the iDevice.

From what I read, if you delete the "Meraki Management" profile, that profile (and, potentially, apps) will be deleted as well.

    Hope this helps.

Maraki appears to a a web based MDM (Mobile Device Manager) for iOS devices. From what I can find it can be installed via an app, or by registering directly on the website.

To search for the app and/or profile:

If you are on iOS 7, pull down in the middle of the screen. You should see a search bar appear at the top. Do not confuse this with the Notification Center that pulls down from the top edge of the screen. Type Maraki in the search bar to see if the app turns up in the search results.

To see if the device has been registered (app or website) go to Settings > General > Profiles. The Profiles option should be all the way at the bottom of the General settings. If there is no Profiles option then your device does not have any profiles and is not registered with Maraki or any other MDM solution.

The purpose of a profile and MDM is to manage certain settings (security mostly) and remote install/register apps; among other things. It does not allow the monitoring of your activities or remote control of the iPad. It's purely a setup and restrictions tool. Though it could install something like Find My iPad and turn it on. On the other hand, if your husband has the necessary passwords to install a profile he doesn't need an MDM solution to put apps or restrictions on your phone.
