About LinkBackswhen i try to download xcode from app store i get error msg 'safari can not download this file'. Installed download app and downloaded dmg file, now i don't know how to execute it or if at all i can run it.

xcode is only for OSX. It cannot be downloaded and run on an iPad.

DMG files are only for OSX. You cannot install xcode on an iPad, or any iOS device.

Perhaps you are confusing the Mac App Store with the App Store. The first is only for OS X (Macs).
On the computer, the App Store is found as part of iTunes. (though they divided up into separate apps on the iPad).
