I've done a stupid thing. Am I done for?

So my office issued me an iPad, complete with 3G coverage so I can use it at home. Then the big hurricane hits and I lose power and Internet hits. So I'm getting a little lonely waiting out the storm and without thinking I pull out my work iPad, and visit some "adult" sites to keep myself company for about 15 minutes. Is my work going to find out about this slip up or will I slide by?

Clear your cookies and history and that should be enough. Presumably, you didn't do it while connected to a company network, so there won't be anything pointing to you at your company. In future, turn on Private Browsing in Settings/Safari.

Just thought of this. The only possibility is that all of your company's iPads share the same AppleID, in which case, your iCloud tabs are available to anyone else with the same setup. In that case, you could be in BIG trouble, as a simple screenshot could preserve the evidence.

Simply can't wait to read all the responses to this question. It should be rather humorous.

Lets see what I can rattle off.

    1) If they set you up for VPN for all communications thru the iPad, then they should have a log.
    2) If you haven't cleared the Safari Browser cache and then they inspect the iPad, then yes they will be able to tell.
    3) If you have forgotten to mention some other outside factor, then it would impossible to tell what is possible.

As a further thought, do you work for someone who would take this seriously?

Visiting adult sites is not illegal, so if anyone has an issue with it, you could simply tell them to mind their own businessbv

If you have an enterprise mobility management application running on the iPad, which many companies require, there will be a footprint of your activities.

On the matter of what's legal....

Viewing adult content is not against the law. But many companies consider it a violation of their corporate policy. Adherence to usage policy is implicit when the employee accepts a device that
is assigned to them - primarily for work.

It's certainly not illegal but that doesn't mean the company won't have a written policy against using their gear for that kind of stuff. Depends on the company. Perhaps in lieu of the situation with the storm you can get by with just a warning or something?

    I wouldn't worry.
