What method did you use previously? The proper AirPrint deal, or via an app? Is your printer AirPrint compatible, you are you using a PC/Mac software to emulate AirPrint for the iPad?

It is an hp8500 all in one. I'm using a PC? I was printing directly to my HP and not using any separate installed app.
