Thread: Multi platfom messenger

I'm looking for a cross platform messenger to chat on with friends with iPhones, htcs etc. Something like What's app but that doesn't need phone numbers etc as I want to use it on iPad. Any suggestions?

I think you only have two choices: either you go for a traditional messaging system like GTalk, IM, Messenger... or you use a VoIP app with messaging capabilities like Skype or KakaoTalk.

You could also try Viber
