Yes, if you go to settings and look under Safari you will see options to delete history, cookies and cache.

iPhone 4s 64GB White (Jailbroken), The "New iPad" 16GB Black (Stock), Past devices: iPad 2, HTC Hero, HTC Evo, HTC Evo 3D, ASUS Transformer.
Your browsing history auto-deletes periodically, so no need to delete unless you're trying to cover your tracks.
If you want to prevent Safari caching data you can turn on Private Browsing in Settings/Safari. In private mode no history will be kept, and cookies will become session cookies. That is to say, they will be lost when you close Safari.

If trying to cover tracks, beware that Safari private browsing isn't reliable. People have complained on various existing threads, like this one: Private browsing .. Not so private !
There are various other options, but here's one possibility:
My Secret Folder is an app that allows passcode protection and doesn't save browsing history. If you have an iPad 2 or 3, you can even set it up so it takes a photo of anyone who tries to access the folder with the wrong passcode.
