I just got my first new ipad last week. For years I've had ipods and there is a thousand or more songs on my PC itunes, as well as audiobooks, etc. Why would I want to sync this new device to the PC itunes? And if I do... what would I need to set in itunes when I don't want the ipad 32G used up with music that I will never play on a tablet?

It's easy to manage your iPad in iTunes, just select it and set Manually Manage music and videos, or you can select which tunes you want to sync to your device in the music tab. iTunes will also manage all your Films, Apps Books, PDF's etc that you want on your iPad.
