    Usb key

Can I insert a USB into my iPad.

I purchased the camera connection kit for my iPad and have downloaded pictures directly from my camera, but now I would like to download some pictures and ebooks from a USB key, but I received an error stating that

"the inserted device takes up too much power"

But my iPad is fully charged.

Can someone please help me out!?

    Thanks

There are two answers to this question. The first is that, generally speaking, a USB stick does not work well with the camera connection kit (CCK). They draw too much power and the iPad port cannot support them. This is a change from iOS 4, when Apple decreased the power requirements of the 30-pin connector. This has nothing to do with how charged your iPad is... The only thing you can do is to keep trying a USB to see which one might work. As it really is a hit or miss, most people stick with SD cards.

Then, on a stock iPad, you can't use the CCK to download books and such, whether you use a USB stick or an SD card. It's only designed to move pictures from a camera to the iPad. To move other stuff, you'll have to use iTunes, some form of online storage (and it's requisite app) or an app that can connect directly to your computer.

Hope that clarifies, though not quite what you want. Sorry.

I've tried 2 different USB keys. Both didn't work.

How do I use iTunes for iBooks and pictures?
