Hi, I agree with Skimonkey. And everything is OK with my iPad2 since the release of the iPad 3. No need to worry about, just go for it.
If you do a lot of reading on your device, I'd go with the new one. I've had it since it came out and still am amazed by it's clarity, sharpness and legibility even at very tiny point sizes.
iPad 2 is still one of the best tablets on the market, and now offers seriously good value for money

Sure thing. The 16GB won't work for everyone but half of the money was hers so cost was an issue. She's just thrilled and understands that she can't just cram the thing full of music and videos. I have a 16 gb and for what I use it for, I have plenty of room.
If you own an iPod or iPhone with a retina screen I would caution against getting an iPad2. Your eyes are now accustomed to a retina display and you will be disappointed with the lower resolution screen of the iPad2. If that doesn't apply to you, then go for it.
