I'm new to iPad. How do I return to the app home? Also, there seems to be no way to return to a previous screen in an app. Help, please! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

To return to the home screen just press the home button, round button on front in middle. You want to return to a previous screen in an app, all apps are different but should have tabs to go back to the screen you want. If you mean to return to a previous app, if you have IOS 5 you can do the 4 finger swipe across the page to take you back, or double press the home button to bring up the multi task bar and select the app you want from there.

Leelai's guidance is sound.

There's no back button, as with many Android devices, if that's what you're looking for.

If you're used to the Android back button, there is nothing on the iPad that does that function. A lot of apps I've noticed have a button in the top left to go back to the previous screen in the same app, it won't switch to a previous app.

You can switch to a previous app by four finger swiping across the screen, right to left.
