Something new. I tap the Safari Bookmarks icon and nothing happens. No bookmark list. No nothing. iPad2. Any ideas as to how to fix this?

When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly. Try it now and let us know how you go.

Wow! I double pressed the home button and closed a ton of apps. I then went to Safari and tapped the bookmarks icon and it opened smoothly!

Don't forget the soft reset when things don't work right either. That means holding both home and top button at same time until it closes down (don't swipe the top when it says to swipe to close/turn off) and until Apple logo returns. It may take a bit of time to reset and reload but it solves a multitude of issues
