When I put sd card into the camera connection kit and insert into iPad, photos automatically show up on iPad screen and ask if I want to import all or those selected...no app. Not sure why you are having a problem unless the photos are not in the correct format.

Hi Jarkin - as already stated, I'm assuming that you are using the CCK (Camera Connection Kit) - correct? If so, are you using the one offered by Apple or a 3rd party product (might be an issue)? Finally, has your adapter worked in the past or has this been a problem from the start?

If not already done, you may want to 'Restart' and if not successful 'Reset' the iPad - directions HERE if not familiar w/ the process - good luck and please post back -

If the photos are in the SD card i assume that was taken with your camera, but, if you are copying in the sd card from you computer ther are 2 simple rules to make it function:
    1. You must to have saved the photos on a folder named DCIM and in this folder other one inside named 100Sony or 100Samsung or any other camera provider...
    2. The name of the picture must to start with DSC and an number or IMAGE and number. For example: DSC0001.jpg

Thanks Fourm. was tring to use a third party sd dock. So i have to use the apple sd card reader?> I did manage to sync the photos via p.c and itunes how ever i dont want to do that i must be able to use the ipad2. Seems there is no information on many issues with this product apple assumes a lots of consumer knowledge. I am afraid i dont have such a knowledge base. This fourm is very very good, we all help each other and we will learn to use our ipad2 . Thanks forum users.

I have understood that there are some 3rd party clones of the Camera Connection Kit on Ebay but I've used the Apple CCK since June 2010. Works so easily I can't imagine not having one if you transfer image files from an SD or CF card often. I do this at least 6 or 7 times a week and often more. You simply slide your SD card into the CCK, plug the CCK into the power port on Ipad 1 or 2, the native Photo app opens and asks if you want all or selected images loaded and an OK makes that happen. From there you can sort into albums, use 3rd party apps for processing, making albums and more. I wouldn't be without my CCK.

I have 2 different eBay clone CCk's one with video out and one without and both read SD cards and import the images perfectly. One even works with a USB 1 card reader and CF cards plugged in to the usb port.
