A media writer said the only thing that kept the iPhone 4 from being perfect was it did not have a pair of boobs and a ******....(maybe 5?) A bit crass, but it illustrates how much we are relying on, and adoring our technology.

I think the new iPhone will be a great phone, but lets step back a little - it doesnt actually make anything new possible. It amazed me that people line up to buy something they have never even seen yet. They have certainly earned a loyal following by consistently making good products, but so much of this is about people wanting to have the latest, trendy thing. They'll have to figure out what it does when they get it...

I understand what you are saying but let's face it look at any on line company. Dell is a big one as an example customers order with out seeing the product Thats what the Internet has done changed our idea of buying Apple's reputation is one of the highest and their marketing is amazing so I guess it's called trust. When I bought my first computer,Apple II, in 1977 from a Apple retailer one all ways could feel and touch before buying. Now consumers buy every thing on line hoping the decision is right. Some people like our orig poster most likely made the decision with out proper research thus finds now it's not for him Any way that's my 2 cents worth as they say in aus.

Yeah, I would say its the result of having a reputation for quality and innovation. People have confidence based on past experience that this will be the phone they will want. I am just the opposite. I didnt order an iPad until I had been to Best Buy and played with one a few times and used one at work to make sure it could do what I needed it to do. With a phone, I am even more picky. When I got my last phone, I tried out 5-6 different phones and read a lot about the different platforms out there.

There are also a lot of original iPhone users, and 3G users who havent upgraded to a 3G or 3Gs and have been waiting for the next gen to come out instead. I know several people at work in that situation. I also know people who bought the iPad not having a clue what it was just because it was in the news and the trendy thing to be seen with the latest gadget from Apple.

Buyer's remorse is also a wonderful thing. In this day an age, it's really not that complicated to try something out in a real world setting to you (not just playing with it at a store,) and if you don't like it, it goes back.

The reason the iPhone 4 is selling so well, is because the people that bought the previous generations found it worth their money and frustrations with AT&T.

From what Steve was saying at the D8 conference they are aware of the problems with the iTunes sync so we can expect changes in the future, though maybe not with this version of the iPad.

Yes the iPad is limited but it's not six months old yet. Can't wait to see future versions.......
