We hope to see some deals on the iPad 1 this Holiday season. Our oldest daughter really wants one but even figuring everyone chipping in for her xmas present, the iPad 2 is just too much. With the iPad 3 on the horizon, you'd think the first gen units would hit the $299 mark or close to it. That'd be perfect! Keeping fingers crossed....

Keep an eye on Amazon. There are always some good bargains to be had there. People sometimes sell used but 'like new' iPads at good prices. Someone recently sold an iPad 2 32gb they described 'like new' for £380, including post, which I thought was a very good deal.

Be careful about buying second hand iPads. We've had reports from members about buying secondhand iPads that are locked to a carrier.
