People do probably expect too much. That's the case with any popular, cool device though. For me, it has replaced the laptops around the house for most tasks but there will always be some things that need to be done on the laptop. Printing is an area where the iPad is a little behind. I tell ya what though, other than those two things it's a darned useful device!

Portability is where the iPad KILLS laptops. It isn't even close. Carrying around a laptop after carrying around the iPad is like lugging an end table around. Yuk! This is huge for many people since portability these days is more important than ever.

So, I'd say the IPad has taken over my computing usage for a good 80% of what I do. Not too shabby

Agreed, I'd add that not just portability but battery life too, my work laptop lasts around 30mins......and takes about 40mins to boot to a stage where I can send an email!!!

Oh yeah - battery life is amaizingly awesome. My Toshibs laptops are powerful machines but they kill batteries in no time.

Yes, I hate when I have I get on the computer and mine is an old PC desktop. Ughhhh
