One other issue that sometimes confuses Members is that, while this clears searches - the back button will still take you back to the pages that you've recently visited. If you want to get rid of that too, then you need to tap the multi-page/tab icon in the menu bar, which displays thumbnails of all the pages that you've got open - and then close all of them one-by-one, by touching the upper left hand corner of the page icon.
Then the back button will no longer take you back to previously visited pages.

Many thanks for your assistance.
You advice worked and I learned something about my new iPad 2 I didn't know before.

But none of that works! Type any letter and your last search phrases show up. How can we clear that?Originally Posted by wolfeslad
This process, including closing any open websites works! I had several items where there only 2 or three letters due to mistyped searches. Good to go now.
