    GPS needs to be activated?

Hello, I have purchased a brand new iPad 32G 3G and everything seems to work just fine and it detects that a SIM card is required so 3G seems to available. However, I cannot get the GPS to start at all and to my understanding an GPS should be built-in in the 3G version so no SIM-card should be necessary.

Is that correct and it is most likely a hardware problem as the GPS should work just like that or do I somehow need to activate it before it can be used by the applications?

You do not need to activate 3G to use GPS. But check that you've set...

'Settings', 'General', 'Location Services' -> 'On' and choose the apps that you want to allow to use GPS.

Cool, I did not have a clue that you needed to activate the Apps but now it works just fine. Thanks!
