HD Movies on iPad. What the heck?

So .... when you download HD (5gb) movies from iTunes ... they play just fine.

But .... when I load my own movies of 4+gb (MKV file), using a video player such as VLC ... video plays but no sound or it doesn't play at all.

Also .... many of my MKV files have more than one audio tracks. What player will recognize that and allow me to pick a track I want to play?

Someone suggested converting MKV file to MP4 as iPad likes those more. I fund software and it's taking 5 hours to convert 5gb MKV to MP4. Will it help???

    thanks.

"This brings us to the audio support – media audio streams supported include MP3, AAC, and the amazing Dolby Digital AC3 format. Couple this with Apple’s Digital HDMI cable, or if you have an Apple TV, Airplay, and you have a portable media extravaganza!"

as far as i know, mkv is a container format, it can contain different video and audio codec. we can't make sure all the codec supported well by iPad, even media players. so there will be no sound, no image, or even can't be recognized. the best solution is converting mkvs to mp4.

it's really important to choose a suitable video tool. Foxreal video converter is recommended.

It's special designed based on Nvidia CUDA technology, if you use Nvidia video card, the conversion speed will much faster.

This tool can help you selecting the audio track you want.

It also supply special presets for ipad to make the operation much easier

you can try the free version
