Hey I was just wondering why some MP4 movies will play on my iPad 1 and others will not. I am trying to watch an MP4 of The Godfather and when I try to drag it in it simply says that the film cannot play on this device. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot

Hey I was just wondering why some MP4 movies will play on my iPad 1 and others will not. I am trying to watch an MP4 of The Godfather and when I try to drag it in it simply says that the film cannot play on this device. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot
It depends how the file was formatted. There are many different mp4 format settings and only some are compatible with the iPad. When the DVD is copied you need to ensure the format is iPad compatible.

Yes. MP4 is just a carrying format - the actual movie can be encoded in many different ways.
download handbrake and use it in universal format..!

I had the same thing happen with a movie I made. This is what worked for me:
Select the movie you want to put on your iPad=> click the "advanced" menu at the top of iTunes=> select "create iPad or Apple TV version."
A few minutes later I had a version that would sync with my Ipad.
you need to download from app store the Xplayer than tranfer ur mp4 movies from ur pc
