    Question about iBooks

Dumb question: I have a Wifi iPad 1. I just opened a PDF file in iBooks, and now it appears on my iBooks "Bookshelf."

Does that mean that the PDF file has been saved to the device (meaning it would be accessible even if I'm not in a wireless hot spot)? Or is the device accessing it through Wifi?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!
    Regards,

    Dave Orban

It's now saved in your device.....no wifi needed to read it now
