    Reformat MacBook Pro

Does anyone know how to re-sync an iPad back to a MacBook Pro without having to reinstall all videos manually?

Open iTunes on the computer (without the iPad connected). Open preferences and go to the Devices tab. Turn off auto-sync. Make sure the computer is authorized with your iTunes account by going to the Store menu and authorizing it.

Connect the iPad. If this is the first time the iPad has been connected to this computer, then it will say so, and warn that syncing will replace all content on the iPad. If it offers the option to Transfer Purchases, choose that; otherwise Cancel.

If you had to cancel, right click on the iPad where it is listed under Devices and choose Transfer Purchases.

When the transfer is finished, make sure that all the movies and stuff you wanted actually were transferred to the iTunes library. If not, you can try again. Sometimes not everything gets transferred on the first pass.

At this point, it would probably be a good idea to create a backup of the iPad as well. You can force a backup by right clicking on the iPad and choose Backup.

Go through all your sync setting pages and make sure they are doing what you want.

You can now sync your iPad. I won't guarantee everything will stay the same. Sometimes apps get rearranged.

If this is a move from another Mac, it might be easier to copy and move the entire iTunes folder to the new MacBook. If you put it in the default location iTunes will recognize it. Or you can go to the Advanced settings in iTune's preferences and point it at the new folder.

You'll still have to authorize the new computer.
