Have you ever gone to a restaurant and the staff all starts clapping for a birthday, anniversary, or other celebration? Apple, under Steve Jobs, has learn the psychology of presentation. Most products which the public really want, they stand in long lines for hours without much fanfare. Apple makes the wait an experience. The media may be involved, and you are a part of an event. Have you notice that some of the people here have gone to more than one introduction of an Apple product?
