I remember when there was a nation wide alert telling people to beware of getting their iPods stolen, especially on subways.

Do you think that the iPad rate of theft will surpass or even come close to that of what the iPods were?

Well ipods you can just put in your pocket and no one will know
but where would you hide a iPad without anyone seeing it

I don't think the iPad will be the "item of choice" thieves for too long. Once the other baby tablets from competitors hit the bricks...they will be much more appetizing.

Ipad thefts will be a big problem, but whether it will be worse than iPhones and/or iPod thefts remains to be seen. At issue is what assets are available to recover the iPad.

Ipads are a very big target, is it bigger, I would say yes for right now due to it,s so new.

I am sure we will continue to see stories about people ripping off Ipad's, but we all need to be smart about where we are using our new toys and be smart about your surroundings. It is just like anything else of value. This is one reason I am not crazy about taking my ipad in my Incase Travel Kit-there is not much of a strap to hold onto.
