Just got my iPad yesterday and am still confused. I downloaded an iBook and can see it on the bookshelf but cannot open it. What did I do wrong All help will be appreciated.

OK - you say you can see it on the book shelf. I'm assuming that when you say you can't open it, you mean you touch the book and nothing happens? It should open up automatically once you've 'touched it'. Some large books can take several seconds so, first of all, wait a little.

If that still doesn't work then - Plan B!!

Switch to another application - any will do!

Double-tap the 'Home' button to open the multi-task bar. Press and hold any of the icons there until they all start to 'jiggle' (Apple's phrase - not mine!).

Now press the top left hand corner of the iBooks icon to force iBooks to close.

Now tap the Home button again - or touch the Home screen - to close the multi-task bar.

Open iBooks and try again.

If this doesn't work - it's Plan C next.....

Let us know what happens.....

Try posting down the device for am few seconds then cutting back on. Or just hold the sleep button and home button down at same time for like 5 secs. And ur ipad should reboot to the apple screen. Hopefully n hopefully that'll work for ya. Sometimes apps or books can act funny when first downloaded and and a good reboot usually fixes it.
