Hi all.

I have set up a master sync folder on an external hard drive and have a list of sub folders that have all sync perfectly for the last 6 months. Whenever I have created a new folder in the past it has optimised the new folder and uploaded, not touching folders that have seen no activity.

Why does it now optimise all 3000 photos every time I sync. I dont know what I have done differently! I only put photos into the master sync folder that I want so have previously checked all folders.

I have trawled the forum but not seen this issue.

Hoping somebody will make me look like a fool as its getting pretty tiresome!

What do you mean optimize photos?

When connected and syncing the text in the i tunes text bar staes' optimisimg photos' and literally goes through all 3082 of them. Once complete it then uploads them to the pad?

It has worked fine in the past where by I have added a new folder inside the master sync and it has just added the new photos.

Now I have to uncheck sync photos as it takes so long. Photos was one of my motivations for buying the pad so I need to get it resolved!

Have you added any other apps that might effect your photos? I don't recall seeing iTunes try to optimize my photos before, during a normal sync.

No I don't have any photo apps, I managed to fathom it out in the begining after it dumped all my photos into one folder! It has always done this optimising though I just assumed it was transferring the photos into an iPad readable format!
