Help, which app to buy to create invoice like excel

Hi, I just got my iPad and looking to use it for start up business. I need to create an invoice in a spread sheet like excel to keep track of my customers. Which is the best one to buy? Is there any thing like office works for the iPad?

Absolutely - there are several 'Office-like' apps for the iPad. Apple has 'Pages' (Word-compatible), 'Numbers' (Excel-compatible) and 'Keynote' (PowerPoint-compatible). They will read .doc, .docx. .xls, .xlsx, .ppt and .pptx format files and can save in .doc, .xls, .ppt and .pdf format.

They are 'lightweight' editions of their desktop cousins, so very complex formatting or formulas etc can defeat them, but for day-to-day applications, they work just fine. As well as the Apple 'Office' apps, there are several others too that Forum members seem to like.

You can get an idea of the Apple products capabilities from their 'Help' section

I'll just add that unless you're planning on generating only a small number of invoices, using a spreadsheet for the task gets old pretty quickly. I'm a happy user of QuickSale - an invoicing and accounts app in the App Store that's well worth a look; they have occasional free trial offers, so worth checking out, though I think the entry-level paid version is only $10 or so. Although I only generate few invoices a month, I happily paid for the Pro version, and pretty much run my business on it. Recommended.

QuickOffice pro has served me well for a while now. Comes with word, excel, and a power point style app. Always works for me.
