    Battery Test

Well a VERY long day at work has given me a good gauge of true battery life. My iPad is running almost all day playing videos, checking emails, and surfing the internet. My iPad has been being used since 7:15 this morning and it is now 12:30 am and I still have 14% battery left.

The 10 hour barrier has been shattered and I'm moving into 16 hours usage today. Shouldn't be a problem on any flight...even international

I had a feeling the battery life would keep getting better once you guys ran a few charge cycles through the ipad and allowed the batteries to get conditioned.

Battery level is set to auto, and the slider is at about a little under 50%....it is bright enough to see everything fine, and also gives it extraordinary life.

Something else I have noticed is that since I have gone thru a few cycles and got the lithium better conditioned I actually seem to have a bit of a reserve above 100%.

I plug it in at night so in the morning when I wake up its at 100%...well it takes about an hour to get to 99% So it seems to actually be fully charged at about 112% give or take. Even cooler!!

Never actually had a device that exceeded the reported battery life!

Oh yeah, another really cool tip.....if you have an AV cable it also has a charger so if you want to watch movies on it played thru speakers it will be plugged in the whole time, so you can crank the brightness to full, movies look so spectacular when brightness is cranked!

Thanks for the reports you guys. That is actually really helping me reinforce my decision to get one of these babies. I have been having trouble justifying the expense due to some financial issues of my own so every little bit of justification helps.

Well the battery life is such a triumph because you don't have to carry a cable out with you! You just need it at home or the hotel or whatever...but it is so robust that you don't have to restrict what you do on it to last the day....even the longest of days will be fine.

I got 16 hours and still had 14% left...so technically that means I still had about 2 hours left! So 18 hours total life is pretty amazing! That means with normal none abusive use the average person should only have to charge once every 3 days.
