    new ipad doesn't have cellular data to add AT&T

    just received 32 gb ipad as a gift. The setting page doesn't have the "cellular data" option to add AT&T.

    Are you sure you have the iPad "3G" and not the standard iPad?

    Correct. Because you can get just wifi only ~ which may be what happened here.

    Consider upgrading to a phone with MIFI capabilites when your contract is up. It's one way to get internet on the WIFI only iPad.
