I personally think the $100 package was a waste for me as and IiPad only owner. I would maybe consider renewing it for $40.
I don't see that point. All of the features are available elsewhere for free.
Contacts -> Google Gmail
Email -> Gmail
Storage -> Dropbox
Photos -> Flikr
There's many more choices too.....
You're right, the old box does not matter.
If you like MobileMe more than Google Mail for the extra services that MobileMe provides, then the old box that you linked is a good deal.
If you're due for renewal the next week or so, I'd go ahead and buy it.
It's easy to implement. You just plug in the code from the box and your profile will automatically renew on the due date for another year.
I do not see that it is relevant to comment about the merits of Google Mail vs MobileMe when somebody has asked whether the price he has found is a good buy for MobileMe.
