Christmas is coming up and I had a talk with my brother and I thought it would be a great gift for my two nieces as one of them has the ipod touch, so is somewhat familiar with Apple.. My brother didnt agree he told me to sell it on ebay, but I said "hey what are brothers for!"

How old are they? I know a co-worker who says her 7 year old wants one for Xmas, but that seems a bit young to care for something so expensive. I think my first car cost less than an iPad...

+1, I stopped selling on eBay a month ago after almost 13 years there. Got burned by a scammer who claimed parcel never arrived. eBay / PayPal now requires sellers to provide insurance and a signature on delivery, that can be recalled on line! If you are a seller and don't provide those 2 items eBay finds in favor of the buyer 100% of the time, requiring the seller refunds 100% of the money they received.

I do just as well on Craigslist with no selling fees

I know my six year old nephew and eight year old niece would think of me as a great auntie if I could afford to buy them one. Unfortunately, my financial circumstances will not stretch that far. I have gotten them Nintendos - one is broken and the other currently lost. They will have to wait until they are more responsible before I make that kind of investment. They have my hand me down 1st gen iTouch. The cost of the Nintendo games vs the cost of the iPad games even the equation though. I spent a fortune on their Nintendo games.
