Question Keep each device's sync separate

I have had my Ipod Touch for some time now and collected quite a few apps. My wife just got her Ipad and when I connected it to our computer, ITunes started putting all my Touch apps onto her Ipad, which she was furious about. I then had to delete them all one-by-one. So how do I keep the apps sync'd to the one computer separate for each device? Thanks.

in your itunes , with your ipad connected. hit ipad on the left column then hit the "app" tab. you could check the apps that you only want. then sync it.
Fate is not by CHANCE but by CHOICE.

There are a couple of ways to incorporate multiple Apple mobile devices to on computer. Here is an article from the Apple website. See if one of these might work for you. I am thinking that the third method might do the trick! (It says "multiple iPods", but these methods will work with an iPad or iPhone)

How to use multiple iPods with one computer

At our house, the solution was simple... two computers!

1991-C4, Tried method #3- my Touch apps still try to sync with my wife's IPAD. I might have to get her to log onto our computer with her own Windows profile but can I still have the one music library? Thanks.

You can still "cherry pick" what stuff from the library goes on to which device. Probably the easiest way with music would be for each of you to create your own playlist and only sync those playlists to the appropriate device. With things like apps, books and movies, etc., you can put a check mark next to each one you want by selecting the appropriate tab in iTunes.

I use two iphones, an ipad , andntwo ipod touches on the same computer. They all sync completely and seperately. They all have different names and of course different content.

The solution is simple. I couldnt stand using itunes until i finally picked up the phone and called apple support.

Windows allows you to log in with seperate users. By setting up seperate users on your computer, your i-devices will sync seperately and not recognize or try to sync the other devices.

Not to get too simple, but for example:

Windows user Seans iphone for my iphone
Windows user ipad for the ipad

Log in to the correct user, start itunes, sync up, close itunes.
Then log in as a different user, sync the appropriate device for that user.

    Yada yada yada.

    Hope this info helps.

I ended up creating a new user on my Windows machine for my wife to sync her IPAD. I also used the information provided by 1991-C4 to point her library to mine so that we both had the same music to choose from. I just wish iTunes was a little more smarter in being able to create Profiles for each device so that we could choose which apps, music, photos, etc could be stored on respective devices without having to manually alter sync details. Thanks all for your help.
