Hi again Peter - I have to agree w/ TP's comment above; I also have iPhoto on my iPad - a good app that can certainly resize your images, but deletion as already stated is not possible.

Sorry that you cannot find an app to 'fit' your needs - the 'native' iPad photo app has a number of irritating limitations, e.g. creating albums w/i the app only links your images, so deletion can even be tricky w/i that app - has been to subject of a number of threads in this forum - Dave

I thought we were just talking about seeing what size the photo is. As far as I know there is no way to resize a photo in iPhoto, other than cropping it.

Hi TP - OOPS! I meant to say that iPhoto can provide the 'size' of an image - agree, no way to 're-size' the pic; OTOH, Photogene can 're-size' an image using the 'export' function, if that may be of interest to Peter? I have TOO many photo apps on my iPad, likely reflecting no prefect single one for me, so can be confusing @ times. Dave

No problem. I was half hoping you'd found something I hadn't. Oh well.

You may be able to send pictures to yourself, select something other than full size (individual pic size is available here too) and when you receive it save it and delete the original (or delete the original before saving). This will take a while, and is a kludge, but if it gives you the option . . .

Sometimes I get the option and other times I don't, not sure the logic behind it.

Hi T Poet and G Man.
    Big thanks for your input.
My original question is well answered.
Sorry for then going off topic a bit about the "delete" aspect.
Anyway you both have helped me with that as well.
    Thanks guys!

    Help: ipad photo size

If you are looking for something to reduce the size of a photo on the iPad (the actual length and height), have a look at the [free] app "Photopad by ZAGG." I used it just now to decrease the size of an iPad screenshot (obviously, you can resize any picture - this is just an example). You know how big a screenshot it (esPECially on a retina iPad!). Well, here's the screen shot that's been resized to 300 x 224:

    Help: ipad photo size-imageuploadedbytapatalk1362664429.061491.jpg

And, here's the screenshot from an app I have that shows EXIF information (size and storage size for this example):

All this was done on the iPad. So, while you do indeed make the photos smaller (so you may have to zoom in on them later), they can be sized so they take up less storage.

    Just an idea....

Hi Marilyn - thanks for the mention of the Photopad app - I've not kept up w/ some of the others released, so added the program to my iPad and will check out its features later - Dave

    Hi Zstair…
    Good idea.
Photogene gives that option, and as far as I can tell is very reliable.
