Yup camping is back to nature. I will only check it once a day for e-mail. (I like to respond to customer orders, questions etc as soon as possible, not 2 or 3 days later)
If it weren't an Ipad I would be lugging a laptop along camping. You make a good point though, Thanks!

We'll check back in with you in a couple of months after you've had your iPad to see how many additional pages to your home screen you'll have.

I'm planning on taking my 16 gig iPad with me on a 9 day camping/hiking tour of the canyons of the west. I'll be traveling by bus with only random stops at places with power to recharge the iPad. I sold a netbook and a nice Toshiba 15" laptop after discovering how versatile the iPad is. I have my music and photographs stored online as well as all my Kindle books. Who needs a hard drive? When near a wi-fi connection I have free continental phone calls with the Whistle app. http://www.greentortoise.com/adventu...rand.zion.html

Screw that I am not camping wthout my ipad and phone LMAO, as stated before just use your phone as a hotspot, might have to add that plan but in the long run would be cheaper then buying 3g model or mifi.

I live in an area outside of the metro circle of 4G. We have lightning fast internet to the house thru mediacom. The 3G on my Evo phone is super slow and the 4G doesn't even exist until you get close to the city. When we go camping we usually look for a campground that has wifi, more and more do, state and county parks never will. (hope and change program)

Is the Japan earthquake really causing this shortage of Ipad 2? I called 4 different retail and electronics stores (Best Buy type) and zippo, none. Nobody knows when either. So I am Ipadless. I can get one on Ebay....the 499 model (16gb wifi only) are selling for 650-700. Don't need one that bad. Best Buy was using a waiting list, but are no longer allowed.

I went through the same sort of ordeal waiting for my new Nikon D7000 to show up in the states. I was on two waiting lists for 6 months before stumbling on one in a tiny strip mall camera shop. I know it's hard to wait but it's their game & their football.
