The iPad will. The iPad 2 will, if you make sure you buy the GSM (AT&T) model. The CDMA (Verizon) model probably will not. My understanding is that there are few if any CDMA carriers the UK.

twerppoet is, as usual, correct. There are no CDMA carriers in the UK or Europe; only GSM models will work here. Other than that proviso, you'll have no problems at all.
