I am a windows guy through and through. I also use CUCUSOFT to convert my DVD-CLONER ripped movies. I now have about 50 movies on my iPAD in sizes from 200m to 1.1g, in lengths from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Ya gotta love the platform! Almost time to go out and pick up some new movies again. I buy the disk for the family, but convert it so I can watch it on the train.

Another great program for converting is AVS Converter 6 *cough* it's even better when you get a cracked version from TPB... *cough*

You can create your own presets for it and stuff... its great!

PC users can use Vuze to convert video formats. Open iTunes first, then Vuze sees it and offers a conversion. Also great for conversions for TIVO and XBox 360.

Newer TIVO will pick up Vuze on your network for transfer. (yea, nothing to do with iPad)

well, my suggestion is you should fet the formats is supported by iPad at first, then you transfer movie files to ipad via iTunes.
For ipad support formats, trun to apple ipad column: Apple - iPad - See the web, email, and photos like never before.
and there are discussion center about iPad use: Apple - Support - Discussions - iPad
    live and let live.

    And.....

Also, how do you make a thumbnail for your video as all we see is a computer icon. Not very clever.

Nah, Mp4 is already a iPad compatible format. All I had to do is to place the movie in the Library first and iTunes will make a Thumbnail automatically than you can drag it from Library to your iPad and voila.

Hope this will help others too.

Putting movies onto the iPad is really incredibly easy.

    1) Download the free app - OPlayer HD

    2) In iTunes click on Apps on the top menu bar

    3) On the left hand column - Sync Apps - highlight OPlayer HD

    4) The main white area of iTunes can be scrolled down to reveal info on the app

    5) drag and drop virtually any movie format file into the OPlayer HD Documents box

    6) Fire up OPlayer HD on your iPad and go to My Documents and you'll find your films.

    7) Job Done.

Top tip: to delete a film, go to the OPlayer HD Documents box (per 5 above), highlight and press Backspace to delete.
