I'd like to give it a go.
I'm wondering what materials I should use?
wood preferably, because it will be hard for me to work metal, unless im just bending. I only have access to saws hammers nails and glue.

Buy a document stand at any office supply store, etc... Works fine for an iPad in doc or landscape.Originally Posted by mikeos

My own adjustable iPad stand

if you look through this thread you will find a few people have made there own stuff at times, i have 2 on here, wood, and an acrylic one. All depends on your skills and what sort of thing you have in mind. good luck.
Depends on what you need. I find that a paperweight or banana under the case does me fine sometimes, just improvising what's available.
32GB WiFi
I am using a frame holder from Target. It is just painted black wood, but it looks classy on my desk and it was only $4.99. It works great.
Made one for myself out of Meccano. To every point of contact to iPad and table I glued rubber pieces so there is no sliding and scratching.
Pros: Solid construction, lightweight, angle can be easily adjusted.
Cons: Can't be folded or modified without screw driver.
