I made a stand from a coat hanger. I got it from watching a video on CNet. I can't post the link yet (only my 2nd post) but here's the title of the write up: "Turn a coat hanger into an iPad stand". Works well for me!

I turned a mousepad upside-down for friction and leaned the iPad on the bookshelf... too simple?

This is my simple stand but it works great for me. And because it is soft wood it would not scratch my pad!!

Can this also be used as a grill? It looks like it could be a mulit function stand, pour some charcoal on the ground and stick the "forks" into the ground at the desired hight and Wa-La! intsa grill too... Just kidding It does look pretty beefy, I doubt much would knock it over...
