I am pretty good at soldering and have always loved doing stuff like that.
A simple thing I did was extend the charger cable because it is very short.
So instead of being 3 feet, it is now 10 feet!

Or you could buy a few Apple Wired Keyboards and then use all of the USB keyboard extenders. And as a bonus it will look good

I always feel I'm missing something here. Why is the length of the USB charger cable ever an issue? Why do people go to so much trouble to extend its length? Why not simply purchase a longer power cable - i.e. the cable from the power outlet to the charger - rather than extend the length of the USB charger cable from the charger to the iPad?
Even if you're using the charger with the 'built in' power outlet connector, this is detachable and then reveals an international standard IEC two-pin connector, to which any IEC power cable (available from Radio Shack) can be attached.
What am I missing?

1. I used to just extend the power adapter but it gets annoying when you have a brick in the middle of the line.
2. A longer USB cable also = a longer sync cable.
3. I was bored.
4. Why buy a cable when I have extra wire? I can extend it for about $1.50. Otherwise, buying a cable for $5-$10.
