You know they have a mobile site already right? Unless you are actually affiliated with Betfair, you will not be able to create an app to place bets...
Well they can contact Betfair, at the risk of revealing their idea and try to if an API is available to them. But do not hold your breath on that. Some outfits have relented a bit and do have an API, LinkedIn.com for instance has third party App access.
Warning, you are at risk, but sometimes you can lucky and get free or revenue sharing deals.
Maybe though, unless it is your passion, think of something else to create.

Betfair offers a free developer API, so the OP's request is perfectly valid. Lets try and be accurate when offering "assistance" guys. There are multiple betfair apps in the app store in the UK and Aus, and I use several myself including the official one.
