I am trying to develop an app that would have the ability to pull iTunes songs from the users library yet still retain audio quality. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When your computer is on you can listen to your music with StreamToMe. It's very good.

You can however manipulate the iPod app inside your app to play music in the background and allow the user to pick playlist to play.
