    thanks
The issue is you appear to be looking for a toolkit, not an app. If you are building an app to deliver ssrs reports, then I'd look at the output formats available on the SSRS server for a common format - I know it can generate numerous formats as we use most of them to some extent.

If you are looking for dynamic views, then I'd consider delivery to a web front end (maybe even SharePoint) and use the browser to access and view - it might take trying a couple of the add-on browsers to get what you want, but that is one method. You could build a function in your app to request the web refresh the data and regenerate the report.

If your goal is to download the .rdl source to the iPad and have it render the entire report, I doubt you'll have great success - the iPad probably is weak on the needed backend drivers for the data source and the tags in the .rdl are tailored to Microsoft, so you may not find much support.

Sorry. Personally I'd explore the output formats for a rendered report and look for ways to consume them in your app, avoiding the actual rendering process with a web based backend being my best initial guess for how to do what you want.

    Unhappy ssrs as web service

    Hi..
I want to write an ipad application which calls a ASP.NET web service on windows.
Also can i host my ssrs generated reports as web service?

So that by combining both the above parts i can finally accomplish my task of rendering the ssrs reports on ipad???

    N. S.
1.i cant use browser on ipad.
2.i cant use ssrs's pdf format coz it doesnt support drill down feature.

    Plzzzzzzzz help.......

    No ideas.

You might want to ask a moderator to move this over to the developer forum, where you're a bit more likely to get help. You've gone a bit beyond asking about an app.

I moved it to the Development section because twerppoet rightly pointed out that the issues you were having were development issues and so it seemed as though you'd be more likely to get a response from Members in that part of the Forum. Remember that the Forum is not affiliated in any way whatsoever with Apple, it's simply a group of enthusiasts who are trying to help each other as best they can. If there is a Member who knows the answer to your problem then hopefully they'll respond, but sometimes simply no one knows how to answer the question.

But hopefully you'll get an answer soon.

    Tim
