Hello,
i believe the a/m is not capable of using GPS (SimCard of a Mobile Service)?
Would I have to buy a totally different IPAD then?

A WiFi iPad does not have GPS capability because GPS shares some of the electronics in an iPad with the 3G circuitry. A WiFi iPad can only determine its location by means of accessing a database of WiFi hotspot locations and, only then, if it's in touch with a WiFi basestation that's listed in Apple's database.
There are some third-party add-on GPS units for WiFi iPads, though.
