I have a 64 gb AT&T iPad 2, purchased here in the US. I have been using the 3G since day one.

My question is, other than wi-fi, how can I use the 3G in Japan? How mcuh will it cost and how do I do this? I will be there for just under a month.

You'll have to find a carrier that supports GSM in Japan. But from what I understand, US and Japan uses the CDMA (Verizon). Although there might be Japanese GSM carriers, you'll really have to look for them.

Edit: GSM is not available in Japan. You cannot use an AT&T iPad in Japan without another intervention device. I found out at www.myjapanphone.com
