    good email app

    hello,
I am looking for an ipad for business, so i got a couple of questions:
I'm a frequent emailer and want to read my email everywhere, but as i have got an outlook account on my normal pc, my question is:
will i be able to read emails on my pc, as well on my ipad? because if i use webmail on my laptop, i wont be able to open the email on my pc, so i have to go to my webmail and send it to myself and then i can open it on my ms outlook..
this will do fine if you get about 20 emails a day, but since i get about 80 mails a day, this is no option...
so will i be able to see the same emails with, let's say the outlook pro app, on my ipad as well on my pc?

Welcome to the forum! With respect to your question, how you receive and manage email overall is dependent on how you configure your mail account with your ISP, etc. The iPad's Mail app can handle any email account including POP3, IMAP, MS Exchange, etc. You can configure it to delete emails just from your iPad or from the email server.

So ultimately it's up to you, the type of email account you have and how you configure it. More here:

Apple - Support - iPad - Mail Assistant

In the meantime, There are a lot of great people here willing to lend a hand anytime. Often using the Search box (at the top-left of every page) will lead you to the answers you're looking for. If not, feel free to post a question in the appropriate area.

There's really no such thing as an "Outlook account". Outlook is simply an email application made by Microsoft. Email is delivered by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), business, etc. from a mail server - the server doesn't "care" what application you use to manage your email. The iPad is capable of handling any email account using its native Mail App...just as if it were a PC, laptop, etc.

As mentioned, what you can and can't read where and when is totally dependent on your email service, the type of email account protocol (POP Vs IMAP) and how you have it configured.

Probably your best bet is to learn about your email service from your provider. Every provider has information about their email service on their website. Then learn a little bit about email in general. Here's a good place to start:

Free Email Basics Tutorials at GCFLearnFree.org

POP vs. IMAP: Outlook, Google Apps, Gmail and iPhone.

Or just Google something like "Email tutorials", "Web Vs POP Vs IMAP" to find more information. That along with the information linked to setting up the iPad above should give you the information you need.

    Hope that helps!

A word to the wise, pay attention to Rich's comments above. I find that the confusion between an email account and an email "client" (through which one accesses an email account) is one of the most common among folks who have other things to do with their lives besides this "stuff." Just keep in mind that an "account" is located somewhere "out there" while an email "client" is a viewing and storage app on your device (computer, iPad, phone, etc.). If you keep this distinction in mind, it will enable you to understand where issues exist and where they don't.
