ifile is the only app which has access to the underlying filesystem and which can import/export any file, even if iOS doesn't, support them. However, you will need to jailbreak your iPad and buy ifile from Cydia, so if you have an iPad 2, that is not an option.Quote:

I use CineXPlayer, The player itself is pretty good BUT desperately needs AC3 support.
I tested Buzz Player, OPlayer HD, AVPlayer HD, CinexPlayer, and VLC.
I have to agree with OP's choice for the best Video Player apps--Buzz Player and OPlayer HD are the best. But I think Buzz Player beats out OPlayer HD in the end.
Out of all of these apps, Buzz Player was the only one that was able to handle full 1080p video. The others, either just crashed immediately, or would play audio with a blank screen.
Additionally, Buzz Player's ability to automatically scan the local network for SAMBA/FTP/Media Server (uPNP) shares is an added plus (although, for streaming video files, I think AirVideo is the clear choice). Buzz Player can also play back shared mp3 files in addition to video.
But I did notice that Buzz Player had difficulty playing back SOME (not all) of my .mkv files.
VLC is the best!

I've held of responding on the positive comments on VLC for iPad when I see them in threads, but I am confused.
Firstly, I do not have a jailbroekn device so don't know how the latest version goes - I am sure it is quite good.
But I have the original version that was on the app store before it got pulled, and there is no other way to say this - it is a piece of crap. Plays everything poorly, out of sync, jerky, etc. Very atypical for VLC.
I can only assume these potivie comments are from users with a jailbroken device and a later VLC for iPad app via Cydia or from the VLC page. But for standard iPads the app is either unavailable or if you have it, it is v1.0.0 and next to useless.
