In some situations a freemium app is worth, if you do not need critically important functions.

But premium apps usually include things you will need someday. When you download games, you SHOULD NOT install freemium games as they may not let you finish the game or play its maximums. In games the most important thing is to entertain yourself. So buy premium games. If there is only a freemium version, install it, but never install freemium ( Lite ) versions.
In other apps, if there is a free app that does more than 70% of what another premium version AND does everything you need, install a free app. Sometimes a free app is better that a premium. Use value/quality pm.
